Almond butter is so easy to make at home!  Just make sure you have a high powered blender or food processor for grinding the almonds into a beautiful paste.  For a honey roasted almond butter, just add honey, 1 Tbsp at a time and taste until desired sweetness.

Homemade Almond Butter

Ingredients:
3 cups raw almonds, unsalted
Salt (to taste)

Heat: Preheat your oven to moderate, for me this is 180 degrees Celsius. Line a large tray with baking paper.

Bake: Spread the almonds onto the paper in a single layer. Cook for 8 minutes, remove from the oven and gently stir, cook for another two minutes or until almonds are deliciously fragrant and golden.  Remove from the oven and sprinkle with salt.

Blend: Pour the almonds into your blender or food processor and blend until you have a smooth nut butter. If the nuts are not turning to a paste you can add oil, 1 Tbsp at a time, and continuing to blend until you reach your desired consistency.  Store in a glass jar or container in a cool dry area.
